Do you need a G.P referral to physiotherapy?

You will only require a referral if you are seeking treatment under a Chronic Disease Management plan (EPC . Medicare) or if you are a veteran (DVA card holder).

How long are appointments?

Initial consultation (including treatment) 1hr
(Initial Consultations may take up to 1 hour and involve a thorough subjective history where the therapist asks questions about your main concerns, followed by your individualised treatment).

Follow up session 30 minutes

Are my physiotherapy sessions covered by Medicare?

No. However you may be eligible for a rebate if you are referred by your G.P under the Chronic Disease Management plan (if you have a chronic and/or complex medical history)

Are my physiotherapy sessions covered by my Private Health Insurance?

Please contact your specific fund to see if your policy covers physiotherapy.

How do I pay for my physiotherapy session?

You are welcome to pay by cash or EFTPOS . Our HICAPS system allows you to claim rebates on the day if you are privately insured for physiotherapy (please bring your Private Health Insurance card).

If you are claiming a Medicare subsidy (via your Chronic Disease Management plan), full payment for service will be required on the day. Please bring your Medicare card and if eligible the rebate can be transferred from Medicare (usually immediately).

Please contact Medicare prior to your appointment if you are unsure of your eligibility.

What should I bring to my initial consultation?

Please bring any documentation (referrals), correspondence or imaging relating to the condition for which you are seeking treatment.

In addition bring your Private Health Insurance card, your Medicare card or DVA (veterans card) if applicable.

Please wear comfortable, appropriate clothing so that we can assess the area of concern.

Non-attendance policy

In this practice we require 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule your next physiotherapy appointment. On occasion it may be unavoidable for you to miss your booked appointment time. Generally, any unexplained non-attendance will incur a late cancellation fee of $60 payable at your next appointment.
